Eligibility For Admission
Master Of Business Administration (MBA) - 2 yrs.

A candidate possessing second class Bachelor Degree of minimum three-year duration in any discipline (Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities, Management, Engineering, Medical and Agriculture) shall be eligible for admission in the 1st semester of MBA programme. Students in the final year of their graduation may also apply subject to the condition that they should produce the evidence of the required qualification at the time of admission if selected.

Post-Graduation Diploma in Management (PGDM) Part Time - 3 yrs. .

A candidate possessing second class Bachelor Degree of minimum three- year duration in any discipline (Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities, Management, Engineering, Medical and Agriculture) shall be eligible for admission in the 1st semester of PGDM programme, Student Should have two years experience in any business field (self / Employee).

Mode of Selection
  •  The selection shall heavily depend on the candidates performance in     MAT, CAT and AIATPI test.

  •  For final admission, an admission index for every candidate namely a + b+c will be obtained where a = MAT, CAT and AIAPA score reduced to the scale of 75, b= score of GD / Interview with maximum of 15 marks and c= score in career with maximum of 10 marks.
    For calculating c; best two of the results of matriculation, Inter and graduation will be taken in to consideration and 5 marks for 1st division; 3 marks for 2nd division and 1 mark for 3rd division will be awarded.
    For Honours graduates, scroe of Honours subjects will be the basis.

Medical

All the selected students will be required to undergo medical examination by a Medical Officer of the Institute and their admission is subject to being found medically fit.

  • Rules of conduct and other regulations pertaining to the institute and the Hostel are to be strictly observed and a serious note is taken of infringement.

  • It is a matter of discipline for students to attend all lectures, tutorials regularly. A minimum attendance of 70% in lectures, tutorials and sessionals for each subject is essential for appearing in the semester examinations.

Enrolment as a Student Member


Application for admission has to be made in the prescribed form to be had from the Institute. It must be accompanied the following:

  • Attested copy of passing bachelor or higher degrees and the marks obtained.
  • A true copy of the college leaving certificate in support of age.
  • 2 (Two) passport size photographs.
  • True copy of SC/ST/OBC/NRI/Defense Personal certificate attested by gazetted officer/ MP/MLA.

At the time of admission, following documents must be submitted to the Institute:

  • Photocopy of Mark-sheet of Degree.
  • Original College Leaving Certificate & Migration Certificate.
  • Character Certificate from Principal/Head of the Institution last candidate.
  • Original Certificate in support of ST/SC/OBC/NRI/Defense Personal Certificate.

Regulation for the Master of  Business Administration (MBA) Examination as prescribed by Ranchi University, Ranchi.

  • That the term ‘academic year’ means the period extending from the first day of June in a year to the thirty-first of May in succeeding year. The word ‘year’ when used without limitation means a calendar year.

  • That an academic year shall cover two semesters. Each semester shall have at least 90 working days and annual vacation calendar of MBA will be finalized by the department.

  • That the MBA is a two-year programme spread over 4 semester covering 25 papers in which one paper of 3rd semester shall comprise Summer Training Report and another paper in 4th semester shall be “project Study”. Department shall offer teaching in 4 years of specialization namely Finance, Marketing, Human Resource and Information Technology Management.

  • That PGDM (Part time) is a three year programme spread over 6 semesters covering 26 papers.

  • That a student shall have to select two areas of specialization one main and another subsidiary in the second year. Department shall identify and disclose 4 papers in each area of specialization to be taught. The papers of these areas of specialization will be called Optional papers. A candidate will have to read all 4 optional papers of his main area and 2 optional papers of subsidiary area in the second year of the MBA programme.

  • That the MBA and PGDM (Part time) programme shall be managed according to following semester wise course structure and time schedule of teaching and examinations commitment.

  • That the title of papers and content there in shall be subject to periodical revision by Board of Studies and Academic Council of the University within the Curriculum structure stated herein.
